Introducing the Paris 2024 Mass Participation Marathon, amateur runners will now have the opportunity to tread the same path as Olympic marathoners, but under the nocturnal sky. Delivering an unparalleled Games experience to the people of France has been a longstanding ambition of Paris 2024. The Mass Participation Marathon fulfills this commitment by providing avenues for widespread participation, allowing enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the essence of the Games, tracing the footsteps of Olympic competitors along the very course of the marathon event. A historic first, inclusive running event encompassing a full marathon and a 10km race will be orchestrated, taking place under the cover of night to ensure optimal running conditions for all participants.

Aligned with the ethos of the Olympic Games, gender parity is a cornerstone of the Mass Participation Marathon, with the Paris 2024 Marathon steadfast in its determination to allocate an equal number of race entries to both men and women.

Legendary distance: the Paris 2024 marathon
A marathon format will follow the same route as the Olympic athletes. This marathon format aims to be open to anyone who would like to push their limits and be part of an exceptional moment following the same route as the Olympic athletes. The runners will be able to follow in the footsteps of the male and women athletes who will fight for the marathon Olympic titles. Open to everyone aged 20 and over, this marathon, which will set out from the Hôtel de Ville at 9 pm and finish on the Esplanade des Invalides, in Paris by night, looks set to be truly unforgettable.
